Divide or multiply a duration by a number
Enter a duration in hours and minutes, choose whether to divide or multiply, and set the factor. The result is shown in hours, minutes, and seconds.
For example: 1 hour 30 minutes divided by 3 equals 30 minutes. Or 20 minutes multiplied by 5 equals 1 hour 40 minutes.
| Duration | Operation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 1h 30m | ÷ 3 | 30m |
| 2h 0m | ÷ 5 | 24m |
| 3h 0m | ÷ 7 | 25m 42s |
| 0h 20m | × 4 | 1h 20m |
| 0h 45m | × 3 | 2h 15m |
| 1h 15m | × 2 | 2h 30m |
The calculator converts the input to total seconds, applies the operation, then converts the result back to hours, minutes, and seconds. Using seconds ensures precision — for example, 3 hours divided by 7 gives exactly 25 minutes and 42 seconds, not a rounded approximation.
Dividing time: A 2-hour workshop split into 5 equal agenda blocks gives 24 minutes per block. A 45-minute run divided into 3 intervals is 15 minutes each.
Multiplying time: If one task takes 20 minutes and you need to do it 5 times, the total time is 1 hour 40 minutes. If a recipe takes 1h 15m and you want to know how long 2 batches take back to back, the answer is 2h 30m.
Workouts: One set takes 12 minutes — multiply by 4 sets to plan total gym time.
Convert to total minutes: 90 minutes. Divide by 3 to get 30 minutes per part.
The calculator shows the remainder as seconds. For example, 1 hour divided by 7 gives 8 minutes and 34 seconds.
20 minutes times 5 equals 100 minutes, which is 1 hour and 40 minutes.
3 hours is 10800 seconds. Divided by 7 gives approximately 1542.86 seconds, which equals 25 minutes and 42 seconds.
