Shoe sizes describe the length of your foot, but each region scales the numbers differently. For men, US sizes run one full size above UK sizes; for women, US sizes run two sizes above UK. EU sizes use the Paris point system, where each size is about two-thirds of a centimeter.
Because brands round and shape lasts differently, EU numbers in particular can shift by roughly half a size between makers. The most dependable approach is to measure your foot length in centimeters and match it to the cm column in the chart above.
